A Hebrew songbook given to me and other elementary school children in the early 1950's serves as the template and visual anchor for a photographic based memoir of my formative years in Walbrzych, Poland and subsequent emigration to the newly formed state of Israel. The title of the book refers to the location of our tent within the immigration camp ("ma'abara") where my family and I lived for two years.
