Art Farmer (still from Forgotten Tenor )

Art Farmer died in Fall, 1999 of cardiac arrest. A long-time resident of Vienna, Austria, Mr. Farmer moved to New York City a few years ago. During my four years of research and production ( 1990-94), no one was as cooperative and genuinely interested in helping me with the project. I can't begin to express how much I appreciated his kindness, professionalism, and consistency in responding in a timely manner to my inquiries and request for an interview. Mr. Farmer really felt a bond and kinship with Wardell Gray. He repeatedly acknowledged Gray's influence and wanted to do everything possible to resurrect his presence. What lingers in my mind however, is that Art Farmer trusted me and was supportive throughout the entire film making process.
